The stretch of coastline from the port of Ancona to Numana is known as the Riviera del Conero, named after the promontory that overlooks the sea, rich in coves and small beaches, rocky or pebbly. Ancona-Portonovo, Sirolo, and Numana are all Blue Flag municipalities. Ancona is also called the city of the two suns because, thanks to its elbow-shaped position on the sea, you can admire both sunrise and sunset from the same point.
